Social Services can give advice on issues relating to alcohol and alcohol addiction

Social Services can give advice on issues relating to alcohol and alcohol addiction
Social Services works to prevent risky use of alcohol or drugs that can lead to uncontrolled use and ultimately result in social exclusion.

If you need help and advice and guidance on issues relating to the risky use of, or an addiction to, alcohol and drugs, get in touch with one of our social workers.
Advice and guidance on alcohol is available to anyone connected with addiction problems, whether this is the person themselves, relatives, work colleagues or others.

Addiction care services

After carrying out a review, the Social Welfare Committee may grant assistance with care and treatment for substance abuse.
This will take place at a treatment centre contracted by the municipality.

Following a period of care at a treatment centre, the municipality will arrange an aftercare programme, in which the alcohol adviser will oversee an aftercare group or provide therapy on an individual basis.
Aftercare is also available to relatives.
For help with an application for assistance with addiction care, ring the Social Services contact line and book an appointment with a social worker.

When an application is received, the social worker will investigate the need for care, and then – if necessary – refer the matter to the Social Welfare Committee for a decision.
If assistance is granted, the care programme is carried out in a treatment centre contracted by the municipality.

Addiction clinic

The addiction clinic in Rättvik is a partnership venture between the municipality, the health centre and psychiatric outpatient services.
The clinic offers combined services for anyone who is over 18 and has problems both with mental illness and addiction.

By bringing together the skills of Rättvik social services, the health centre and psychiatric outpatient services, we can provide a programme that can more effectively prevent a relapse into substance abuse.
In addition, coordinated services promote the mental and physical health of the service user, with a positive impact on their ability to make a life for themselves that is as independent and smooth-running as possible.
